I have got to stop staying up until all hours of the morning. It really cuts into the day. But the weird thing is that when I do get up at a reasonable hour, half the time I feel like I should just go back to sleep, because it seems strange to do anything before two in the afternoon. Is that weird?

I think so. Summer is getting to me. Gotta get better at structuring my life without the help of classes or work.

Well, the job hunt has sort of fizzled out. I have to admit, I've been growing less and less enthusiastic about it ever since I got shot down for that internship at a literary agency. I really thought I had a good shot at that one too -- the people seemed impressed with me, and we got along really well. And then, of course, they had to go and give it to somebody whose parents knew the owner. That sucked. So...yeah. But I think I have a plan now -- I'm going to be a writer for the summer. Sure, it doesn't pay much (or anything, since I highly doubt any of what I produce will be published anytime soon), but hey, it's my last summer as a freeloading undergrad living in an apartment in Manhattan on my parents' dime, and I figure if, under these fantastic conditions, I can't find a way to buckle down and produce a sizeable body of (original) material of some kind that can at least later be edited into something remotely publishable, then becoming an author is probably not in my future, and I can just bypass the whole MFA idea and head straight to law school. Or not (*grin*). But in any case, it will tell me something. And I'm an experiential learner when it comes to certain things. I'm going to use the summer to experience getting organized and taking control of my life. Besides, by the looks of things, the temporary employment market is not doing so hot -- and I have a few ideas for ways to make money during the school year, anyway.

Rationalizing? Yeah, probably. Is it working? (*grin*)

But first, I have to go the hell to sleep...

Well, grad school has been going well. Commuting is not so bad, for the moment, people are nice, and no one hates me thus far. All improvements. I have to go down to San DIego to pack up the rest of my life there this weekend, and then I am really done.

My professor sent me her brown bread recipe - that makes me happy. The UCI mascot also amuses me...anteater *giggle.*

Summary: Just a little something I whipped out in about fifteen minutes. You see, InuYasha’s end reduced me to a muddle of tears like pathetic, snivelling thirteen-year-old girl, and so I cried nonstop for three hours. Which, no doubt, was starting to get on my boyfriend’s nerves just a little bit. He told me that I should take all of my angst and anger and sadness and happiness and other excess emotions that I normally don’t use quite this much, and put it into something productive. I know it isn’t great (actually, far from it), but it was almost like closure for me, and I stopped crying shortly after this was completed. I tried to make as platonic and friend-y as possible, because I don’t want people thinking that I’m some sort of self-insertion/Mary-Sue maniac. This is the first time that I’ve ever actually put myself and the fic. Hmm… Yes, well… No flames, please ^^;

I think I'm crushing on John Simm, because I started downloding Doctor Who. I HEARD HE IS IN IT?? PLAYING SOME BADASS GUY?? I'M SO WATCHING THE WHOLE (NEW) SERIES JUST FOR THAT.
